The Arrizo 5 is the larger and sportier car, with a tall, bold grille, LED headlights, daytime running lights and LED tail lights. The Alsvin looks neat and conservative, with a black grille, body-coloured door handles and halogen headlamps.

Screens and Smartphone Smarts

The Alsvin's 10.25-inch screen is bigger than the Arrizo 5's 8-inch display. Size isn't everything, though. The Chery supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and has four speakers, while the Alsvin relies on MirrorLink and has only two speakers.

Safety: Basics vs Beyond

Both cars have two airbags, ABS, stability control and tyre pressure monitoring. The Arrizo 5 then adds a rear camera with dynamic guidelines, rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, cruise control and child locks. Chery's website also lists ADAS, though without detail. The Alsvin skips parking sensors, a camera, cruise control and any driver-assist features, but it includes a seat belt reminder.
