Changan Eado Plus

The cabin of the 2024 Changan Eado Plus looks rather premium, considering it's a Chinese car. The interior has a dual-tone leather theme for the seats and upholstery. The seats are made of black leather, and the multifunction steering wheel controls most of the multimedia functions. Other amenities include a push-button start and a central armrest on the rear seat. Both front seats have armrests, and there's storage space between them with cupholders. While the dashboard is soft-touch, a lot of hard plastics have been widely used in the cabin. The cabin gets automatic climate control with dedicated rear air vents. The dashboard is dominated by a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit connected to a six-speaker audio system. It supports WiFi and Bluetooth. A 7.0-inch full-colour information panel displays driver information. The physical buttons are all easy to operate.

The 2024 Changan Eado Plus doesn't look remarkably different from other midsized sedans. But it still manages to grab eyeballs. It's mounted on a high-strength chassis. The front is dominated by a wide, black-coloured honeycomb grille that produces a powerful visual impact. It's flanked by autoinduction headlights designed with a petal-wing shape. The daytime running lights (DRLs) surround the headlights and offer crisp visibility. The car gets all-around LED lights and side air vents along with heated body-colored side mirrors with turn signals. The door handles are also body-coloured. Chrome-plated handles can be used as an option. There are two chrome-tipped exhaust tips at the back, along with sharp-looking taillights, fog lights, and a rear spoiler. The car runs on 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels. There's an electrically operated panoramic sunroof that adds natural light and air to the cabin.

The 2024 Changan Eado Plus has a spacious cabin. The seats are nicely cushioned and have superb back support. Five adults can travel comfortably. There's a lot of legroom and headroom on both rows. The cabin itself is quiet and calm, courtesy of the great noise insulation. There's an air purification system with a 4-layer strainer and activated carbon filter. It purifies PM2.5 and other hazardous substances. The suspension is a bit on the stiffer side, and some hard impacts can be felt inside the cabin. But otherwise, it's nicely balanced and absorbs most of the bumps and potholes.  The air-conditioning cools the cabin in minutes

The 2024 Changan Eado Plus is equipped with a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 156 PS/260 Nm. The motor is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch. The electric power steering is light and nicely balanced. The expansive front windscreen offers a commanding view of the road. Turning corners is easy with minimum body rolls. The is designed for urban commuting and serves the purpose well. 

The 2024 Changan Eado Plus is packed with the latest driver-assist features and safety equipment. It gets rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, a 360-degree panoramic view camera, a front collision warning system, and an automated emergency stop. The car gets optional satellite-based navigation. The Eado Plus has a high-strength, energy-absorbing body that provides maximum safety to passengers. Other equipment includes six airbags, hill-hold control, antilock braking, and traction control. 

At a starting price of AED 80,000, the 2024 Changan Eeado Plus is among the most affordable cars in its segment. It attempts to provide the right balance of practicality and premium bits and mostly succeeds. However, Changan is a new brand, and its long-term durability still needs to be questioned. The Eeado Plus will be a worthy car nonetheless for those on a budget.
