2023 Bangkok International Motor Show to be the launch pad of new Honda CR-V

ABU DHABI: The sixth-generation Honda CR-V is all set for the ASEAN debut at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show. The all-new CR-V has already debuted in other countries, and the fans have been waiting for it to launch in the ASEAN region. The 2023 edition of the show will reveal the important details of the sixth-generation compact crossover and bring VTEC turbo and hybrid technology to the nameplate.

Honda Thailand released two teaser photos of the upcoming SUV along with revealing some of its key specifications. The new crossover borrows some styling cues from the Civic and HR-V. It is dynamic and sharper compared to its predecessor. The exterior will align with the rest of the lineup and adopt a look similar to the Honda HR-V.

The infotainment screen will exhibit a “floating” design and come with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The air conditioning vents will be hidden under a honeycomb strip. As per Honda Thailand, the Honda Sensing advanced driver assists systems will be available across all variants. It will have slim LED headlights, more prominent LED tail lights, a new trapezoidal grille, and reshaped exhaust pipes. The CR-V is now 10mm wider and 69mm longer.

The Thai-spec model will be powered by a 1.5-litre VTEC turbo engine and a 2.0-litre e: HEV hybrid unit. It also estimated that the 2.0-litre gasoline variant wouldn’t make a return in Thailand. The 1.5-litre VTEC turbo engine will act as the entry-level powertrain for the CR-V.
