Hyundai Creta Grand

Shared with the five-seater Creta, the cabin layout of the Hyundai Creta Grand has been made more premium in appearance with a richer-looking dual-tone tan and black leather upholstery. The four-spoke multi-functional steering with wraparound side spokes looks rich, while the 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console with configurable display modes looks funky while having comprehensive information on display.

The centre console is slightly tilted towards the driver's side, with the Hyundai Creta Grand having an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with physical buttons for the 7-speaker BOSE audio system to its sides. The lower centre console has a panel for automatic climate control switches. The entire centre console, which has sleek AC vents at its top, gets a premium gloss black finish and surrounds. 

Designed for a wholesome experience for the rear seat occupants, the Hyundai Creta Grand gets captain seats and a console box with an integrated armrest between them. These seats feel comfortable and well-padded while having usable trays ahead of them, placed behind the front seats.

The Creta Grand also has a third row of seats, which like the second-row seats, also get individual AC vents. However, the space is at a premium in the third row. Other premium features in the Hyundai Creta Grand are a panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front row seats, wireless chargers in front and second rows, electric parking brake, 64-colour ambient lighting, and more. 

Inspired by the smaller five-seater Creta, the Hyundai Creta Grand has a more elegant appearance, with the improved length over the former giving it a more imposing road presence. Compared to the Creta, the Creta Grand has a tweaked front fascia, with its signature cascading grille having chrome inserts and surrounds for a premium and rich look. The side chrome garnishes extend towards the trapezoidal headlamps, which have C-shaped LED DRLs in the inner edges and a triple LED headlamp setup with a gloss black finish over them.

The side profile of the Hyundai Creta Grand also looks more authoritative and elegant over the smaller Creta, with its longer length, larger 18-inch machined alloy wheels, and larger rear three-quarter profile. The flowing theme of the C-pillar remains unchanged over the Creta, though it gets larger rear three-quarter glass panels. Along with large roof rails and side body cladding, the Creta Grand also has pentagonal combination tail lamps with modern LED inserts and a chrome strip between the tail lamps at the back. 

Like other front-wheel drive SUVs and crossovers from Hyundai, the Creta Grand also has Macpherson struts with coil springs at the front and coupled torsion beam axle at the rear. The ride quality feels supple and composed in the usual driving environment, with the Creta Grand also having additional three traction control modes – Snow, Sand and Mud – for improved traction on loose surfaces. 

The Hyundai Creta Grand gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which was once available in the previous-generation Tucson. This conventional petrol engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission in the Creta Grand and claims a maximum power output of 159 PS and a maximum torque output of 192 Nm. The engine feels refined and powerful most of the time, except at higher RPMS, where it could feel more responsive and powerful. 

While the Hyundai Creta Grand misses out on ADAS features like the other global-spec versions, this three-row midsize SUV is decently equipped with safety essentials like six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera, surround view monitor, blind view monitor, electronic stability program, hill start assist, and tyre pressure monitoring system. 

The added benefit of a third row of seats for kids and a slightly more premium and better-equipped cabin makes the Hyundai Creta Grand a more practical and desirable option over the regular Creta.
