Genesis GV70

Available in a host of monotone and dual-tone leather upholstery options to choose from, one can spec its Genesis GV70 as per the preference. Of all the options, the GV70 offers a very luxurious and premium experience, exhibiting high levels of fit and finish.

The driver’s cockpit of the GV70 looks unique with a very distinctive-looking multi-functional steering wheel, which comes garnished with satin chrome bits and a rounded centre boss spread across its diameter. The traditional analogue gauges in the instrument console here are accompanied by an 8-inch TFT MID screen in between them.

The overall layout of the cabin has an aerodynamic curvature across the width of the dashboard, which makes the cabin of the GV70 look wide and spacious. The centre console here looks uncluttered with an asymmetric housing for the buttons of the climate control, with a floating touchscreen unit at the top of the dashboard.

The interior of the Genesis GV70 is equipped with state-of-the-art features like frameless auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, wireless charger, digital key, heated and electrically-adjustable steering wheel, 12-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 8-way power-adjustable co-drivers seat, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, powered tailgate and more.

One of the most distinctive-looking SUVs in the UAE market, the Genesis GV70 follows the design language of the Korean carmaker, which is almost common in all of its cars. However, the GV70 has its own set of a few highlights which are exclusive to it only and are not found in the rest of the Genesis offerings.

At the front, the Genesis GV70 has the same horizontally-split all-LED headlamps, which come garnished with daytime running LED strips in both upper and lower housings. One is welcomed by the massive grille in the centre, which has tapered lower edges and diamond-themed grille inserts. With the large air dams in the traditional position of fog lamp housings and the middle, the front bumper also looks aggressive and goes well with the rest of the design of the SUV.

The Genesis GV70 has a poised and upright stance, when viewed from the side, with it offering a high ground clearance and 18-inch machined alloy wheels. The side profile is characterized by a parabolic line, which emerges from the headlamps and flows to the tail lamps. The dropping-down chrome line at the C-pillar is the most striking design element of the side profile of the GV70.

At the back, the Genesis GV70 comes adorned with ultra-thin quad LED tail lamps, which are horizontally stretched and flow towards the middle of the boot lid. The rear bumper also comes with additional lights, giving the rear boot lid a cleaner look. The rear bumper gets a unique G-Matrix pattern and vertically-aligned exhaust outlets on its corners.  

The Genesis GV70 is offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, with the latter making it more capable over diverse terrain conditions. Equipped with terrain modes and electronically-controlled suspension, the Genesis GV70 offers fine handling, though the ride quality is slightly on the firmer side for a sporty driving experience.

Powering the Genesis GV70 is a 2.5-litre inline-four turbocharged petrol engine, which is available with an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. The engine here claims a maximum power output of 304 PS, while the peak torque output is rated at 430 Nm.

The Genesis GV70 gets a comprehensive suite of safety features, including airbags all around, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, safe exit assist, intelligent speed limit assist, driver attention warning, high beam assist, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist.
