Porsche to unveil the 911 Hybrid in 2024

ABU DHABI: Porsche has officially announced in its 2023 Annual and Sustainability Report that it will unveil the first 911 hybrid this summer as part of the model’s mid-generation refresh. It hinted at the arrival of an "ultra-sporty hybrid" that will seek inspiration from its racing division. Porsche may come up with multiple variants of this ultra-sporty hybrid while offering the iconic 911 driving experience.

The 911 hybrid will be equipped with a 400-volt hybrid system and a modified twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six cylinder engine.
  • What design changes have been made to the new Porsche 911?

The facelifted 911 offers improved cooling all thanks to the distinctive air ducts in the front bumper. Revised headlights come up with HD matrix LED functionality. The rear end is equipped with inboard-mounted tailpipes and new brake lights within a restyled bumper.
  • Ahead of its introduction, details remain scarce on the 911 hybrid. However, as per the previous reports, it won't be a plug-in hybrid, unlike its rivals. The hybrid 911 will be equipped with a 400-volt hybrid system and a modified twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six cylinder engine. The electrical motor will be positioned on the front axle granting the car all-wheel drive.

The new hybrid drivetrain’s output has not been disclosed, but Porsche is expected to come up with different performance levels over time. Models such as the Turbo S E-Hybrid and Turbo-E Hybrid are speculated to follow, aligning with the Panamera and Cayenne line-ups.

On the front bumper, the facelifted 911 will have distinctive air ducts for improved brake and radiator cooling. Revised headlight assemblies will offer HD matrix LED functionality. The rear end will come equipped with inboard-mounted tailpipes and new brake lights within a restyled bumper.

Interior updates will include the latest Porsche Communication Management system and new digital instrument graphics.

The Porsche 911 Hybrid is one of the most awaited debuts expected from the German automaker before this year’s end, along with a new Panamera and the all-electric Macan.
