New Geely EX5 EV Launched in the UAE Alongside 2025 Monjaro

Abu Dhabi : The carmaker has also opened its biggest outlet located on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Chinese car maker Geely has officially introduced its fully electric Geely EX5 EV in the UAE. This marks an important step in their plan to push more electric vehicles in the region. At the same time as launching the EV, AGMC Geely has introduced a new version of the Monjaro SUV and opened the largest showroom for the brand in Dubai.

Geely EX5 and Its Significance in the UAE Market

The EX5 is the first EV SUV from the new Geely Galaxy brand to be sold in the United Arab Emirates. It comes as part of Geely’s effort to bring more affordable electric vehicles to the UAE market. After the recent excitement around the Galaxy A7 i-DM, with its impressive hybrid range of 2,100km, the EX5 EV offers a strong mix of good performance, modern technology, and good value.

Geely EX5 Design and Styling

The Geely EX5 EV features a smooth outline, clean details, and a mostly closed front grille with built-in LED headlights. The vehicle rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. At the back, there is a full LED light strip that connects the taillights, a style similar to Porsche’s design. Color choices include Turquoise Green, Carbon Black, Moonlight Silver, Frost Grey, and Snow White.

Geely EX5 – Comfort and Entertainment

The interior of the Geely EX5 comes equipped with a large 15.4-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a 10.2-inch digital display for the speedometer and other gauges. The front seats can fold flat for easier loading or extra comfort. A wireless charger makes phone charging simple, and voice commands help control many functions without touching a button. 

Other comfort aspects include ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers and a powered tailgate. The SUV offers two audio options: the Pro-grade comes with a six-speaker setup, while the Max+ version features a 16-speaker system for a more immersive sound experience.

Geely EX5 – Safety Tech

The electric vehicle is fitted with a wide range of safety features. The car features six airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill start and hill descent assist and traction control. It also features advanced driver assist technologies including blind spot detection, cruise control, automatic emergency braking and a head-up display.

Geely EX5 – Powertrain and Performance

The Geely EX5 EV features a 60.22 kWh battery and a single electric motor. The setu generates 218 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds and attain a top speed of 175 kmph. In real-world driving, it can cover about 425 to 430 km on a single charge, making it suitable for daily use and trips between cities.

In terms of range and charging, the EX5 can add 135 km of range in just 10 minutes using DC fast charging. Charging from 10 per cent to 80 per cent takes about 28 minutes. Because of this quick charging ability, the EX5 is among the fastest-charging electric SUVs in its class.

Geely EX5 Price in the UAE

The price of the Geely EX5 in the UAE starts at AED 99,900 for the Pro version. The higher-end Max+ model costs AED 120,000.

New Flagship Geely Showroom Opens in UAE

At the same time as the launch event, AGMC Geely has opened its biggest showroom in the UAE and its seventh in the country. Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, it now serves as the main EV showroom for Geely in Dubai.

New Geely Monjaro for 2025

In addition to the EX5, Geely also unveiled the 2025 Monjaro, which costs between AED 141,900 and AED 146,900. This high-end Geely SUV has:

• Luxury interiors and cutting-edge safety features.
• A 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine offering 235 hp and 350 Nm with a Borg Warner 4WD system.
• The Monjaro 2025 still leads its segment in terms of features and value, even with slight design changes.
