Mitsubishi reveals new SUV design ahead of global debut on August 10

ABU DHABI: Following the debut of the Triton/L200 in Thailand, Mitsubishi is all set to conquer the Indonesian market. Mitsubishi has unveiled a brand-new compact SUV ahead of its scheduled debut at the 30th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. 

The SUV's name has not been revealed yet, but it is speculated that the model will be the successor to the Mitsubishi ASX. 

According to Mitsubishi, the new SUV follows the 'Silky & Solid' concept and is the perfect combination of robustness and elegance. Like the concept model, the Dynamic Shield face of the SUV features a T-shaped daytime running light signature. The headlamps are positioned beside the dashed light bars along the edges of the bumper.

Here are a few other highlights of the new Mitsubishi SUV:

• The SUV looks wide at the back with a T-shaped graphic for the LED taillights.
• The SUV has a 222 mm ground clearance and runs on 18-inch wheels.
• The new Mitsubishi SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre engine combined with a CVT gearbox that sends power to the front wheels.
• When measured against the tape, the new SUV is 4,390 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, and 1,660 mm high.
• The SUV boasts a "Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium" audio system for a concert-like experience. 

The deliveries of the new Mitsubishi SUV will begin in November 2023. It will be manufactured in Bekasi, West Java, at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia. Mitsubishi has not disclosed anything else about the SUV yet, so we will have to wait for its global debut.
