Land Rover gives a sneak peek of the Range Rover Electric

ABU DHABI: Land Rover has sparked excitement amongst automotive enthusiasts by providing a sneak peek into the upcoming Range Rover EV scheduled for its debut in 2024. This underscores the efforts made by the brand towards electrification generating speculation about the upcoming Range Rover EV’s design elements, features, and performance capabilities. 

This is the first time the Range Rover nameplate will receive an electric powertrain. There is already a waiting list for those eager to book the EV.

The teaser gives a glimpse into the upcoming Range Rover EV’s design. It bears a resemblance to its ICE-powered version but comes with distinct elements such as an 'EV' badging on hub caps, a unique grille, and a motorized charging port in place of the fuel filler.

The upcoming Range Rover EV is underpinned by the 800 V Modular Longitudinal Architecture that enables swift charging. It is anticipated that it will come with multiple powertrain options and battery sizes. Its top variant’s performance is estimated to be similar to the Range Rover V8, achieving an acceleration of 0-100 kmph in 4.6 seconds.

The electric Range Rover scheduled for its launch in 2024 will inherit the off-road capabilities of its ICE-powered version, featuring both hardware and software enhancements. It can wade through 850 mm of water and will compete with models like the Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX, and the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.
