Hyundai allegedly scraps plans for N Vision 74 concept

ABU DHABI: In an unexpected turn of events, Hyundai Motor has scrapped its plan to come up with its highly awaited N Vision 74. This hydrogen-electric hybrid sports car was expected to enhance the high-performance electric vehicle lineup of the automaker.

The N Vision 74 which was revealed in 2023, captivated everyone with its futuristic design and 775-horsepower hydrogen fuel cell powertrain. According to media reports Hyundai wanted to mass-produce the car but the project has been shelved, making its future uncertain.

Hyundai has not given any confirmation about this report but a spokesperson said that the aim of the concept car is to showcase future directions and that discussions are ongoing for mass production. This uncertainty aligns with the August investor deck of Hyundai, which listed the N Vision 74 without further details among 21 upcoming models. The reason for the potential cancellation may be due to the focus of Hyundai on high-profile projects, like hydrogen technology and urban air mobility, which could have caused the N Vision 74 to become a lower priority.

While a cancellation has not been confirmed by Hyundai, the future of the N Vision 74 remains unclear, without any updates on its development. This has led to speculation among industry analysts and enthusiasts alike.
