Clearer pictures of 2019 Mitsubishi Montero Sport surface

ABU DHABI: Mitsubishi has been testing the 2019 Montero Sport for quite some time now, and it hasn’t been a secret. A few spy shots of the test mule were seen earlier this year, but they didn’t reveal much about the car. However, now, there’s a new batch of spy pictures of the 2019 Mitsubishi Montero Sport doing rounds of the Internet, and apparently, this time they are clearer than before.

The new pictures have been revealed by a foreign magazine. It's quite surprising, and disappointing for some, that the test mule didn’t have any kind of camouflage at its rear end. This means only one thing, the 2019 Montero Sport will continue to have the same look from the back - a couple of large in-the-face tail lights. Well, there’s is a slight change at the rear but it’s so minimalistic that anyone would hardly notice it. Mitsubishi has thickened the faux skid plate on the new model.

 

Just like the back, the side of the test mule didn’t have any camouflage either. So, only the front remains. And, thankfully, Mitsubishi did cover it up nicely. This implies that the 2019 Montero Sport will get a revamped front fascia. It’s being speculated that we could see a fresh front grille as the test mule had a slightly larger brand logo. We can also expect to see a fresh pair of headlamps and daytime running lights. The front bumper could be new as well and might vary with the variants of the car. Apart from all these expected changes, one thing’s for sure, the 2019 Mitsubishi Montero Sport will be featuring a set of new alloy wheels - 6-spoke design with grey inserts.

As of now, Mitsubishi hasn’t released any details regarding the specs of the upcoming Montero Sport. But chances are that we would get to see a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbo diesel engine that has got 181 PS of max power and 430 Nm of peak torque.
