BMW 3-series to be revealed at the 2018 Paris Motor Show

ABU DHABI: Paris Motor Show 2018 is about to get very interesting. The 7th generation BMW 3-series is all set for its official launch at the event that will be held in October. The German automaker just released a teaser video of the upcoming sports sedan. The car was undergoing its final tests at the Nürburgring. The next generation model from BMW’s best selling list will be given the G20 moniker. This comes following the steps of the car’s bigger brothers- the G30 5-series and the G11 7-series.

The latest 3-series model is going to be 55 kgs lighter and 10mm lower than its predecessor. It will also house one of the most powerful four-cylinder engine to come in a BMW so far. Also, the engine is more fuel-efficient than the ones before it. BMW 3-series will also feature an upgraded 8-speed Steptronic transmission along with a 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear axles. The car is getting a state-of-the-art lift-related damping system that works in tandem with its spring travel and neutralizes the bumps & vibrations on the road.

The 3-series Beemer is going to be offered with a list of M Sport updates that include 18-inch lightweight wheels, an M Sport differential and a new steering wheel. Also, a new M Sport suspension that is sure to offer a sportier ride than before will also be up for grabs.

Coming to the insides of the sports sedan from BMW, this time the car will have more glossy and chrome elements in the dashboard and around the air vents. The car is rumored to have parted ways with the part-digital, part-analogue instrument cluster of other BMWs. Instead, a full-digital instrument screen like the one in Audi’s Virtual Cockpit is expected to have been placed.
