2025 Toyota Supra GRMN likely to borrow BMW M2’s potent engine

ABU DHABI: Toyota is developing the GR Supra's high-performance version with a more composed chassis and a significant increase in power. The car could also get an aggressive aerodynamic package and stiffer suspension with bigger wheels. This new high-performance variant will most likely be called the GRMN. As per a few reports, Toyota is testing this new high-performance variant actively, which promises to be a dynamic and visual delight.

The Supra GRMN may come with a B58 6-cylinder engine, producing 330 hp and 500 Nm. This engine features a redesigned piston design, single-scroll turbochargers, and stronger internals. This versatile power plant is known for offering a wide range of outputs, from 560 hp and 550 Nm to 460 hp and 550 Nm in various BMW models.

Toyota has not revealed specific details about the new Supra, but if it is outfitted with the 'S58' engine, its 0-100 kmph time will significantly be reduced. It will feature a revised suspension set-up, placing the car lower than the standard version. This adjustment has been made to enhance the car's cornering performance. 

It is also expected that Toyota's GRMN nameplate, which is called 'Gazoo Racing, tuned by the Meister of the Nürburgring,' will be revived. This badge was used in the past for the previous generation Yaris high-performance variant in Europe. The Supra shares its platform with the Z4, which underwent a few styling changes earlier this year. Its mechanical components remain almost the same.
