What features does the Suzuki Dzire get?

The 2024 Suzuki Dzire, visually, looks much different from its earlier generation. Even a mere glance is enough to spot the changes. The car now gets a single-frame, tall Audi-like hexagonal grille. The number plate is now incorporated into the grille. The fog lights get more matte-black around them. There are chrome 'brackets' under the chin. The nose of the 2024 Suzuki Dzire is distinguishably different from anything before. Looks-wise the car appears to be a shrunk-down version of a full-sized sedan. The curvy flanks, sweptback profile, and big wheel wells lend a racy look. The top-level model runs on rather generic 15-wheels that somewhat look lost under the bigger fenders. It's time the car gets at least 16-inch wheels. The fog lights and the reflector headlights look a bit dated. Hope they'll be updated in the new-generation model with all-around LED lighting.

The cabin of the 2024 Suzuki Dzire is unexciting. It's a deliberate attempt from the Japanese manufacturer as the Dzire is a no-frills car that focusses more on practicality instead of premium bits. The seats are upholstered in polyurethane. A lot of hard plastics have been widely used to keep production costs low. Even the dashboard is of hard plastic with the middle-left part getting a shiny strip.    

The dashboard gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit connected to a multi-speaker audio system. The display is crisp but the unit's size is among the smallest among rivals. The air-conditioning is via physical dials. The readouts on the driver's information panel are large. The flat-bottomed steering wheel, with the leather and faux-wood insert, looks good. The bits of faux wood trim on the dashboard look nice. 

The 2024 Suzuki Dzire comes with a few convenient storage spaces. Each door can hold a one-litre bottle. The glovebox is spacious and the central console looks neat.

How spacious is the Suzuki Dzire?

With 3,995 mm length, 1,735 mm width, 1,555 mm height, the 2024 Suzuki Dzire is a fairly spacious entry-level sedan. There's plenty of space in the front. But none of the front seats get electrical adjustment. It's still not difficult to find the most comfortable driving position. The Dzire's gets a 2,450 mm wheelbase and that means there's enough legroom on the rear seat as well. Though the Dzire is a five-seater car, it may be a little crammed for three adults at the back. But there's no dearth of headroom. The rear seat is nicely reclined and supportive. Suzuki has ensured that the driver’s and passenger’s elbows are taken care of, courtesy of the door panel cushions. The rear seat gets a foldable central armrest with cupholders.

The 2024 Suzuki Dzire gets a 378-litre boot space. It's not the biggest in the compact sedan class but still spacious. 

What engine and transmission options are available?

The 2024 Suzuki Dzire is equipped with a four-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 90PS/114Nm. The motor is mated to a five-speed automated manual transmission. The powertrain isn't the best in class but does its job well. The transmission isn't fully seamless and there's a bit of delay when changing from the second to the third gear. Downshift too is delayed but gets aggressive at a higher speed. Handling of the 2024 Suzuki Dzire is among the best in the segment. The steering wheel is nicely weighted. High-speed stability is good. At a slow pace, the steering eases and allows great manoeuvrability. It makes the Dzire one of the best city cars. The suspension system absorbs most bumps. But the noise insulation should have been better. The cabin of the 2024 Suzuki Dzire is a nice place to be in.
