Polestar 4

The Polestar 4 comes standard with a bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery as standard, with the Plus pack bringing in bio-attributed MicroTech in Charcoal with Zinc deco and mist-tailored knit with zinc deco options, and the Nappa upgrade pack bringing in perforated Nappa leather in zinc with charcoal deco theme. 

The simple and understated cabin design of the Polestar 4 includes a multi-functional steering wheel, 10.2-inch full-TFT instrument console, 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-way powered driver’s seat with memory function, 6-way powered co-driver seat, heated front seats, solar system-inspired interior ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charger,  and a panoramic glass roof. 

The Pro Pack for Polestar 4 adds a host of additional features like 12-way powered driver’s seat with manual leg cushion extensions and easy ingress and egress functions, heated rear seats, electric reclining rear setbacks, star knit illuminated deco, three-zone climate control with rear touchscreen control panel, electrically-adjustable and heated steering wheel, air purifier, 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, auto-dimming rearview mirrors and 14.7-inch head-up display.

The Nappa pack further adds massage and ventilation functions for the front seats, four additional overhead speakers, and rear comfort headrests.

The overall stance and design of the Polestar 4 looks like a mix of a traditional sedan and an SUV coupe, which gives this electric vehicle a unique look of its own. The front contoured bonnet flows towards the clean-looking fascia, with split L-shaped all-LED headlamps with angular LED DRLs placed within their inner edges. The Plus pack gives this crossover 32-pixel LED headlamps with adaptive high-beam functionality.

The side profile of the Polestar 4 exhibits a rounded roofline, along with flush-type door handles and frameless, electrically adjustable, and heated rearview mirrors. The side boy mouldings can be opted in either a body-coloured or blacked-out theme, with this coupe crossover having five different wheel options between 20-inch, 21-inch and 22-inch to choose from.

The rear profile of the Polestar 4 lacks a windscreen and instead gets a blank panel with a high-definition camera mounted on top of it for rearward visibility. The wide L-shaped LED tail lamps are joined by a sleek LED-connected light bar across the boot’s width.  

The Polestar 4 is based on the SEA platform, with it getting high-capacity passive dampers with internal rebound coil springs, combined with external coil springs in the Long Range Single Motor variant and continuously controlled active ZF dampers with coil spring suspension (CCD) equipped with internal valve and rebound coil springs and external coil springs in the Long Range Dual Motor variant.

The Performance pack adds specially tuned, active ZF dampers with coil spring suspension (CCD) equipped with internal valve and rebound coil springs, stiffer external coil springs, and anti-roll bars. There are three steering modes on offer too – light, standar,d and firm, though the steering feels too weightless in the light and standard modes. 

Both the variants of the Polestar 4 have the same 100kWh battery, which claims a maximum range of 620 km in the Long Range Single Motor variant and 590 km in the Long Range Dual Motor variant. The lower-spec Long Range Single Motor variant has a rear-mounted 200kW electric motor, which claims 272 bhp and 343 Nm, whereas the Long Range Dual Motor variant has an all-wheel drive layout with 200kW motors on front and rear axles, which claim 544 bhp and 686 Nm in the combined mode. While the Long Range Single Motor claims 7.1 seconds for the 0-100 kmph run, the Long Range Dual Motor takes 3.8 seconds for the same. 

Operating with the 12 ultrasonic sensors and cameras all around, the Polestar 4 comes equipped with a range of safety features, including understeer control logic, trailer stability assist, regenerative stability control, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance and mitigation against other vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, forward collision warning, lane keeping aid, lane departure warning, oncoming lane mitigation, driver alert control, rear collision warning and mitigation, cross traffic alert with brake support, road sign information, blind spot information with steer assist, post-impact braking and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Polestar 4 also has seven airbags, direct traction control, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree parking camera on offer, with the optional Pilot pack adding extra features like pilot assist and lane change assist. 

The Polestar 4 fits the bill of modern electric crossover and SUV standards with a breathtaking futuristic design, exhilarating performance, and a long list of electronically-operated features, that make it one of the most technologically-accomplished electric vehicles today.
