As the automotive world slowly but surely shifts to electric mobility with leading American and Japanese carmakers increasing their all-electric portfolio, Chinese companies seem to outrun them by miles. Zhejiang Geely Holding Group is one of China’s biggest privately-owned conglomerates and the Geometry C is its latest electric vehicle (EV) to hit the roads. The car has a starting price of AED 142,000.

Just for records, Geely owns Volvo and the Chinese carmaker has undeniably benefitted from the former’s expertise in automobile designing and technical expertise. It’s thus not a surprise that the 2025 Geely Geometry C is an accomplished electric sedan. It doesn’t really look like a Chinese car. That’s probably because Geely hired British automobile designer Peter Horbury in 2011 to design their cars. Horbury had earlier worked for Chrysler, Volvo, and Ford and is widely credited with steering Volvo’s revival in the 1990s. He put his signature on the 1992 Volvo Environmental Concept Car (ECC), the executive luxury car. All Volvo cars since then have been followed the same design concept with minor upgrades.

The 2025 Geely Geometry C is a hatchback though it looks more like a contemporary crossover. The car gets a downward-sloping roof that’s fairly common among most crossovers these days. It does manage to look a bit futuristic. There’s no grille in the front but a moustache-type black strip runs from beneath the bonnet to the bumpers. Sleek headlights flank the sides. The car gets all-around LED lighting. The rear end isn’t prominent but still looks attractive. Other notable exterior features include flush-door handles that pop out while unlocking the car, a massive panoramic sunroof, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, and feather-inspired taillights.

The 2025 Geely Geometry C doors open to a premium and tech-rich cabin. The interior, according to Geely, is environment-friendly. It’s a nice balance of practicality and premium stuff. Faux-aluminium highlights, and the central console’s gloss-black trim contrast nicely with the two-tone cream-black upholstery.

The dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit connected to a multi-speaker audio system. There’s a heads-up display (HUD) unit and an automatic climate control system with filtration. The central console is neat and classy and gets two cupholders. There are other storage options as well, including a large glovebox. The car gets 417 litres of boot space. There’s also wireless phone charging. 

Is the Geely Geometry C spacious?

With 4,432 mm length, 1,833 mm width, and 1,560 mm height, the 2025 Geely Geometry C is a rather spacious EV in its class. The car is mounted on Geely’s GE2.0 platform, designed exclusively for electric vehicles. It’s not the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform that underpins the Zeekr X and Volvo EX30. There’s a structural integrity to the entire cabin. The two front seats are ventilated and electrically adjustable and get the maximum legroom. The multifunction steering wheel is rake and reach adjustable and the driver can slip into the most comfortable driving position. 

The 2025 Geely Geometry C gets bench-type seats at the back. There’s decent legroom though headroom is a bit compromised because of the downward-sloping roof. While the doors are pretty large to allow easy entry and exit, taller passengers may find it a bit difficult to get in and out of the car. The 2025 Geel Geometry C isn’t exactly a five-passenger car. Four is a more comfortable number. The rear-seat is split-foldable to allow more cargo space.

The 2025 Geely Geometry C GS is equipped with a single permanent-magnet motor that produces 201PS/310Nm. The motor is powered by a 53.3kWh liquid-cooled, lithium-ion battery with a claimed run range of 350km. The higher GF version gets a 70kWh battery with a mileage of 460km. handling of the 2025 Geely Geometry C is much better than expected. The passive-entry system means the driver simply needs to open the door, sit, slot the column-shifter into ‘D’ or ‘R’ as required, and the car promptly starts to move. The suspension is nicely balanced and absorbs all bumps and thuds. The cabin is noiseless though some wind noise on highways filters in. The steering wheel is nicely weighted and promptly responds to driver inputs. It’s easy to overtake city traffic with Geometry C.
