Renault Koleos

French carmaker Renault has reintroduced its 5-seater SUV vehicle Koleos, it offers the same front styling as of Renault’s sedan Megane, that has been ramped up to give it a better SUV look. The new Koleos is available in three trims PE, SE, and LE, and all of them are powered by the same 2.5L Sce petrol engine. And, this engine can produce a maximum power of 170 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 233 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The base variant comes standard with the front-wheel-drive, whereas the top two trims come standard with all-wheel-drive mode. The engine power is transmitted to the wheels via a new X-Tronic continuous variable transmission system. 

The base variant can clock the top speed of 185 kmph, and the top two variants can reach the maximum speed of 199 kmph. Koleos can reach from 0-100 kmph in less than 10 seconds. The prices of Koleos start from AED75, 075. 

Renault has kept many exterior features standard on Koleos, such as C-shape LED daytime running lights, electric folding and defrosting side door mirrors, front fog lamps with cornering function, LED rear lights with bulb turn signal and LED turn signal on door mirrors. Whereas, some premium features are available only on the top trim, and the base and mid variants come with elliptic halogen headlamps. Whereas the top variant comes with full LED headlights. In addition to this, LE also comes equipped with ambient lighting on front central storage and front and rear door panels. And, SE and LE come standard with the auto-dimming rearview mirror and remote engine start function. 

The interior features of Koleos vary along its three trims, but despite that the base variant PE gives you plenty of essential features such as, cooled cupholders, one-touch front driver power window, automatic two-zone air conditioner with rear air vents, front and rear adjustable headrest, rear power windows, rear 12V power outlet on central console and trunk, leather steering wheel, and in term so of connectivity and infotainment you’ll get Bluetooth and AUX to stream music, Radio AM/FM. Whereas the second trim offers interior features in addition to the base variant such as auto-dimming rearview mirror, a rearview camera, panoramic sunroof, and a 7-inch touchscreen tablet with Renault R-link and navigation system. And, in the top trim LE, you’ll get additional Bose sound system, 8.7-inch touchscreen tablet that comes with Renault R-link and navigation system, instrument panel with ambient lighting, one-touch easy-folding rear seats, ambient lighting on front central storage and rear, front door panels, platinum grey leather seats, driver seat with lumbar support and electric ventilated driver and front passenger seat. 

Along with this, Renault has built Koleos to be one of the safest passenger SUV and it comes equipped with ABS with brake assist system, driver and passenger airbags, rear and front curtain airbags, rear parking sensors, automatic parking brake and blind-spot warning. And in the front wheels, you’ll get ventilated disc brakes whereas in the rear wheels solid discs brakes are installed. 

Koleos comes standard with column electric power steering, and as a five-seater SUV, it offers good passenger space, sufficient head, and legroom.
