The New XPENG Electric Sedan Is the Talk of the Town

Abu Dhabi : The 4-door electric sedan shows a striking design language and hints at advanced technology inside.

Xpeng Motors has revealed its new P7 electric sports car. During its development, it was called “E29”. The new model is a big step forward for the company in both looks and technology. This launch shows that Xpeng is now an important competitor in the global race to develop AI-powered cars.

Powertrain and Performance

The powertrain details for the new Xpeng P7 are still under wraps, but it is expected to stay fully electric. The car may feature the company's upcoming "Kunpeng" electric vehicle platform, which could allow for future range-extended options.

Experts believe this new model could be equivalent or better in performance than the current Xpeng P7i. The P7i provides up to 466hp of power with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. It also has a maximum CLTC range of up to 702km.

Styling

The new Xpeng P7 has been completely revamped to look sportier and more streamlined. Rafik Ferrag, the lead exterior designer at Xpeng, has given the design updates. 

• The design keeps the original P7’s style but adds features that improve performance.
• The new version has a sleek fastback shape, with handles that sit flush with the body. 
• The side mirrors are frameless, and there is a retractable spoiler at the back. 
• The taillights stretch across the full width of the car and have a fresh lighting pattern. 

These changes give the car a modern, high-tech appearance. The design balances good looks with practicality, making the car more aerodynamic and efficient.

Interiors & Features

Xpeng has not officially shared photos of the interior, but spy shots give a clear look. 

• The cabin appears roomy and filled with tech features. It shows a large central touchscreen, a three-spoke steering wheel with touch controls, and a potential purple leather option.
• The vehicle is expected to run on Xpeng’s latest Xmart OS 2.0 system. This interface supports advanced voice commands and may include an augmented reality head-up display for better driver awareness.
• One big upgrade is the use of Xpeng’s newest Turing AI chip. The car might switch to a camera-only, vision-based driver assistance system. This moves away from the lidar systems used in earlier models.

XPENG P7 Launch in UAE

The new Xpeng P7 is set to go on sale in the second half of 2025. Masked prototypes have been spotted during testing, indicating that the car is close to ready. Regarding the model’s name, a trademark application was made for “P7 Ultra”, which may be a new version or variant of the P7.

More details about the car, including technical specs, pricing, and features for different markets, will be announced closer to its release. It is still unclear if the P7 will be available in the UAE and when it might arrive there.
