Should You Wait for the 2026 Mitsubishi Pajero? Price, Specs, Release Date & What We Know So Far

Abu Dhabi: After five years of silence, Mitsubishi confirmed that the all-new Pajero is coming back. Built on a ladder-frame chassis and a range of other upgrades reviving the Iconic name. So, should you wait for it or just go for the existing SUVs? Well, the answer depends on various factors. 

What is Confirmed about the new Mitsubishi Pajero

Hers is what Mitsubishi has confirmed about the upcoming Pajero. It uses the same ladder frame as the Triton (L200) pickup truck, with model-specific suspension development for both front and rear. This shows that Mitsubishi isn't just rebadging a Triton, but they have created a new dedicated ride setup over the platform. Ensuring both serious off-road performance and passenger car comfort. 

The global premiere is expected to be in the autumn of 2026. 

We have no confirmed engine specs, no price, no UAE launch date, and no trim levels. Things will be career in the global premiere. As the UAE is the priority market for Mitsubishi. 

Why the Ladder Frame Is the Most Important Spec Right Now

The  Ladder Frame platform already places the new Pajero in the category of the Land Cruiser 300 in comparison to other European alternatives. It competes with the UAE buyers who use their SUVs seriously off-road.

The other thing to watch for is the Pajero Heritage. The Pajero name has a genuine credibility in this region among the hardcore off-road fans since its first launch in 1982. The original model introduced the idea of combining full 4WD off-road performance with actual passenger comfort. Before that, buyers were choosing between a working truck and a comfortable car. But the Pajero offered both, contributing to its 3.25 million units sold across 170+ countries. 

But even after that, the Pajero left global markets in 2021. This return is the first in five years.

Should You Wait for the New Pajero? 

The answer to that question is as fellows. If you need an SUV now, then just don't wait; there are already great SUV options in the UAE like the Land Cruiser 300,  Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Lexus GX, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. They are proven, reliable, warrantied, and already available at your nearby dealer. But if you are planning to buy in the next  12 to 18 months, then the new Pajero deserves a look.
