Porsche sold 320,221 units in 2023, aims to strengthen presence in ASEAN region moving forward

ABU DHABI: In 2023, Porsche observed a three-percent growth, delivering 320,221 units globally. The consistent demand in North America and Europe and robust growth in the established regions balanced a decline in the sales figure in China. In 2023, North America emerged as the largest sales region for Porsche, with 86,059 deliveries.

In the coming year, Porsche will focus on stable sales and value-oriented growth emphasizing the update of four out of six model series. Despite a decline in the sales figure in China, Porsche observed a 16 per cent increment in deliveries in emerging markets. In total, it sold around 52,220 sports cars showcasing the brand's strategic market positioning.

Porsche 911 stole the spotlight by observing a 24% spike in the sales figure in 2023, selling 50,146 units, while the Taycan, observed a 17% rise in the sales figure, reaching 40,629 units. The 718 models witnessed a 13% growth, delivering 20,518 units, and the Macan, Cayenne, and Panamera collectively sold 87,355, 87,553, and 34,020 units, respectively. The Macan held its position and stayed consistent with last year’s performance.

Looking ahead, Porsche AG has announced plans to expand in ASEAN markets, aiming to tap into the fast-growing automotive scene in Southeast Asia. This announcement was made after the surge in demand for the vehicles manufactured by Porsche, particularly in the Southeast Asian market. 

According to Detlev von Platen, the Board Member for Marketing and Sales at Porsche AG, the performance of its vehicles has been exceptional in Southeast Asia, surpassing growth rates in the established regions.
