Porsche Expands 911 All-Wheel Drive Lineup with New Carrera 4S and Targa 4S Models

Abu Dhabi : Porsche has strengthened its 911 range with three new AWD variants that includes the Targa 4S. The iconic body style marks 60 years of heritage and innovation.

• New Carrera 4S coupé, cabriolet, and Targa 4S help expand what AWD 911 offers to six.
• It has a 480 PS engine that delivers better acceleration and dynamics of driving.

Porsche has introduced three new all-wheel drive models to the 911 range. They include Carrera 4S Coupé, Cabriolet, and Targa 4S. This marks a milestone expansion of the family of the legendary sports car.

These new additions help enhance performance, improve safety and reaffirm the commitment of Porsche to maintaining the versatility of its 911 lineup.

Boost in All-Wheel Drive Performance

All three new variants share the upgraded 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder boxer engine from the Carrera S. The engine, which produces 353 kW (480 PS), delivers a 30 PS increase over its predecessor.

Power, which is mated to an eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK), is distributed to all four wheels with the help of Porsche Traction Management (PTM).

The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Coupé sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds (with Sport Chrono Package), and can achieve a top speed of 308 km/h.

Improvements in intercooler design, which the company borrowed from the 911 Turbo, also contribute to the boost in performance. All models have rear-biased handling characteristics with additional torque to the front axle when needed.

Celebrating 60 Years of the Targa

The body style of the Targa, since its debut in 1965, has embodied safety and open-top motoring. The Targa was originally launched in response to the concerns of the US market over the safety of convertible and has since evolved into a symbol of engineering and innovation in design.

Targa, today, comes with a fully automatic roof mechanism, which transforms from coupé to convertible in just 19 seconds. Its signature wraparound rear window and wide roll bar is still a visual nod to the original one in 1965. They offered the current roof in black, blue, red and brown colors to add visual choice to heritage.
