New XPENG P7 Unveiled – AI Tech and 710 km Range Onboard

Abu Dhabi : With the launch of P7 , the brand aims to take on Tesla in this segment.

Chinese automaker XPENG has revealed its new P7  electric sedan, marking a big step forward in design and technology. The new P7  sedan features smarter AI tools, an aerodynamic design and strong performance stats. The car aims to stand out in the crowded EV market.

Powertrain and Performance

The XPeng P7  will be available in multiple trims to suit different driving needs. It offers two main battery options. 

• The first is a 60.7 kWh LFP battery that can drive up to 602 km (374 miles) on a full charge, according to the CLTC test. With a software update, this range can increase to 615 km (382 miles). 
• The second option is a bigger 76.3 kWh battery, which can cover as much as 710 km (441 miles). 
• The car also has two motor choices. One is a 180 kW (241 hp) motor that produces 450 Nm of torque. The other is a 230 kW (308 hp) motor, which also delivers 450 Nm.
• Charging is quick thanks to its 800V system. Through this fast charging, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in just 20 minutes.

Exterior Styling

The P7  boasts a modern fastback design, having an aggressive-looking front. 

• The car features a single LED light bar running across the width of the profile. 
• It is 5,056 mm long, 1,937 mm wide, and 1,512 mm tall. Its wheelbase measures 3,000 mm. 
• The smooth, aerodynamic shape gives it a low drag coefficient of just 0.206, which helps save energy and boosts its range.

Interiors & Tech

The interior is a place to experience luxury and technology.

• The Nappa leather seats have heating, ventilation and massage functionality. A large panoramic sunroof stretching 2.1 square meters fills the space with natural light, making the cabin feel bigger and open. 
• The heart of the XPeng P7  is its advanced AI system that sets new standards for self-driving. This vehicle incorporates XPeng's AI Hawkeye Visual Solution, a camera-based system that skips traditional LiDAR sensors. Instead, it relies on high-res cameras, millimetre-wave radars, and ultrasonic sensors to see the environment.
• Powering this setup are two NVIDIA Orin-X chips, which provide 508 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of processing power. This enables the car to understand and react to what’s around it in real time. The AI constantly learns and improves, with updates sent over the air. These updates boost driving skills without adding extra costs.
• The P7  features a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 10.25-inch digital driver display, both powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip. 
• The rear passengers get an 8-inch entertainment screen.
• The vehicle features XPeng’s enhanced X-GPT model with improved voice recognition, which makes driving more intuitive.

XPENG P7  Launch in UAE

The XPeng P7  has received critical acclaim since its inception. It got over 10,000 orders in less than 12 minutes after its launch. Deliveries have started in China, and there are plans to expand it in European and probably Middle Eastern markets in the coming months.
