Mercedes-Benz unveils new MBUX Virtual Assistant at CES 2024

ABU DHABI:  Mercedes-Benz unveiled a groundbreaking user interface at CES 2024, featuring a virtual assistant powered by AI. Running on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System the MBUX Virtual Assistant aims to redefine the experience of the user by incorporating generative AI and advanced software for a more human-like interaction with the car.

The MBUX Virtual Assistant understands the emotions of humans and ensures a convenient life by offering intuitive suggestions. Powered by 3D game-engine graphics and MB.OS, the MBUX Surround Navigation guides routes smoothly.  Its predictive responses collect information from situational contexts and other inputs. The generated response guides what tone is used to respond by the car’s voice.

Markus Schäfer, Chief Technology Officer provided important insight on how generative AI and MB.OS can transform the user experience. 

Mercedes-Benz also displayed other innovative technologies at the event including the MBUX SOUND DRIVE. The automaker collaborated with American entrepreneur will.i.am to develop this technology. With the help of this technology things like acceleration, brake turning and recuperation will translate into sounds. In-car audio storytelling system is another technological innovation that received lots of appreciation at the event. 

The CES 2024 event also marked the first appearance of the Concept CLA Class. The concept previews Mercedes-Benz’s new Operating System set to be the backbone of every interface in the new cars built on the Modular Architecture platform of Mercedes-Benz.
