Hyundai Ioniq 6 snags three World Car Awards

ABU DHABI: Hyundai continues its victory saga for the second time as the  Hyundai Ioniq 6 snags 3 World Car awards from the World car jury. The World Car jury consists of hundred automotive journalists from around the globe who test-drive fully redesigned new cars sold on more than one continent. 

Hyundai Ioniq 6 has earned the titles of '2023 World Electric Vehicle of the Year', '2023 World Car of the Year’ and '2023 World Car Design of the Year.' Last year, the Ioniq 5 won the same awards at the World Car Awards. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 was also one of the finalists for the COTY honor, beating the Kia Niro and BMW X1/iX1 for the top title.

The CEO and President of Hyundai Motor Company said “We are thrilled to receive this prestigious honor two years in a row, which recognizes the tremendous talents and unrelenting efforts of everyone at Hyundai Motor Company to bring EVs like Ioniq 6 to market.” 

Hyundai Ioniq 6 sits on the E-GMP architecture and offers either a 77.4 kWh or 53 kWh battery unit. It is one of the most aerodynamic EVs available in the market. The IONIQ 6 features a Smart Regenerative System 2.0 that monitors the speed of the EV and vehicles around it with the help of front radar. It will also feature an EV route planner in its navigation system.
