Genesis G70 confirmed for the UAE market

ABU DHABI: Genesis, the South Korean automaker Hyundai’s luxury car wing is trying to gain from the UAE thriving sedan market. In its move to solidify the position in the market, Genesis first launched its flagship model the G90. The mid-size four-door sedan the G80 followed it next.

Now, as a new year’s treat or an effort to impresses the UAE crowd, Genesis has confirmed its plan to launch the G70 in April.

The G70 first appeared back in September 2017 in South Korea and since then has debuted in a few selective markets. The UAE being its next stop, the company hopes to allure buyers looking for a classy sedan with modern aesthetics. From design to performance to safety, the G70 is packed with features that’ll stay in onlookers memory for long.

Highlighting the G70 major attributes, Altar Yilmaz, Genesis General Manager for the Middle East and Africa said, “The G70 will further enhance customer appeal of the Genesis range, offering the style, comfort, and refined performance that is critical in a very competitive segment of the premium automotive market.”

Genesis explains G70s design as ‘balance and harmony of details’. And it is evident from its athletic outer elegance consisting of sleek full LED headlamps, wide hood, character lines, spirited boot end, and dynamic bumper with dual muffler. The cabin is put together even better and fully tunes with the outer mild-sporty feel. The seats are tucked with quilted natural and Nappa leather, and the controls upfront get real aluminium and leather casing.

Complimenting its aerodynamic design and further hiking the Genesis G70 performance is the 2.2-litre diesel engine. Coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the mill produces a maximum power of 202 PS at 3,800 rpm along with a peak torque of 441 Nm.

Though the company is numb about the G70 price tag but looking at its profile, it’ll sure tally counterparts like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Post its launch, we are expecting delivery to commence from the second quarter.
