Geely-owned Zeekr introduces the Zeekr X electric SUV in China

ABU DHABI: In 2021, Geely Automobile Holdings launched a new brand of premium electric vehicles to capture a share of the luxury EV market dominated by homegrown companies. The new brand is called Zeekr and its lineup includes three models, Zeekr 001, Zeekr 009, and the recently-launched Zeekr X. The Zeekr X is the automaker’s first-ever SUV that will be available in three different options.

With the launch of the Zeekr X, the Chinese car maker aims to double its annual sales to 140,000 units in 2023.

The Zeekr X is based on Geely’s Scalable Electric Architecture platform used by the brand for its first two production models. It is offered in three trim options - You (5-seater), Me (5-seater) and You (4-seater). The Zeekr X Me is available only in a five-seater, rear-drive model, while the Zeekr X You is available in a four-seater, rear-drive and five-seater, four-wheel drive. 

The Zeekr X measures 175.2 inches in length and has a 108.3-inch wheelbase. It is powered by a 66 kWh battery pack which offers up to 560 km range. It has 200kW rear and 115kW front electric drive power, with four-piston callipers for precise braking. I

In terms of safety, it is outfitted with intelligent driving assistance systems utilising 5 millimetre-wave radars, 5 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars.

Geely Automobile Holdings has not revealed anything about the launch of Zeekr X in the UAE market.
