Dubai : Dubai is about to strengthen its EV infrastructure with 200 new ultra-fast chargers by 2026.

Dubai has taken a big step forward in electric mobility as they're about to install 200 Ultra Fast EV Chargers by 2026.

The project, which Parkin and charge&go (a subsidiary of e& group) leads, is aiming to expand the EV infrastructure in Dubai and make sustainable driving more convenient for residents and visitors.

A New Era for EV Infrastructure in Dubai

The 10-year partnership between Parkin and charge&go means there will be a rollout of ultra-fast DC chargers in all the areas that are high-demand. The deployment will begin in October 2025 with 20 units, which they will expand to 200 chargers within 12 months.

The locations will be residential communities, shopping centres, leisure areas, and community hubs. Dubai, by placing chargers in accessible spots like that, will ensure that EV owners have quick and reliable options for charging whenever they need one.

Solving EV Ownership Challenges

Charging time has always been a big issue for people who drive electric cars. AC chargers take hours, and unlike those, these new DC chargers deliver a complete charge in less than half an hour. This will help address one of the biggest barriers to the adoption of EV in the UAE.

Since the park and charge system will be integrated, it'll help reduce the misuse of charging bays. Drivers will be able to book ahead, monitor sessions, and pay easily. Which will create a smooth experience that encourages more people to switch to electric.

Current EV Infrastructure in Dubai

As of mid-2025, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is operating more than 1,270 EV chargers under the EV Green Charger Initiative. These currently serve more than 40,600 electric vehicles all over the emirate.

DEWA has also set regulatory standards and licensing for private operators like Parkin in order to ensure safety, reliability, and consistent growth of EV infrastructure in Dubai.
