Chevrolet Equinox Launches in the UAE – Rivals Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6

Abu Dhabi : The latest 2025 Equinox is an everyday car for those who do not want to compromise on looks, comfort, performance, and most important, safety.

The Chevrolet Equinox EV is now available across the UAE. This marks a new step for General Motors as it pushes forward with electric cars in the Middle East. The Equinox offers style, comfort, and connectivity, all in one vehicle.

Sporty Exteriors

Chevrolet's RS trim gives the Equinox EV a sporty and upscale look. It combines practical SUV features with a sleek electric style. The trim includes a bold front fascia, LED headlamps, and sleek LED taillights. The roof features a dual-tone design finished in black. The side profile features flush door handles and 21-inch black alloy wheels.

Futuristic Interiors

Inside, the cabin provides a futuristic look and comes studded with practical features. Bright colours and advanced tech are used throughout. The key highlight is a 17.7-inch touchscreen with built-in Google for easy usage. Drivers will see an 11-inch fully digital display right in front of them. The cabin is also equipped with multi-colour ambient LED lights that can be changed according to the mood. 

The cargo space offers 844 litres of space when the rear seats are folded down. Comfort and style are key, with options for black and red accents on the seats. Upgrades include a large sunroof, ventilated seats to keep passengers cool, and an auto lift gate that works hands-free for easy loading/unloading of baggage.

There is also inbuilt Wi-Fi and the myChevrolet app, allowing remote access from your phone. For added comfort and security, customers also receive free access to OnStar Connected Services for three years. 

Powertrain and Battery

The Equinox EV with front-wheel drive is equipped with a 213 hp electric motor that delivers 320 Nm of torque. It comes with One-Pedal Driving and Regen on Demand for enhanced control.

Chevrolet estimates that a full charge can give the vehicle up to 513 km of range. Owners get two charging options at home. The standard 7kW charger can fully charge the battery in just a few hours. Moreover, there is an optional 22kW Level 2 charger, which adds about 118 km of range.

For even faster charging, DC fast chargers can add 113 km of range in only 10 minutes at stations offering 155 kW power. This makes the EV suitable for city driving and longer trips across regions.

Safety Net

The 2025 Equinox EV is equipped with Chevrolet’s newest safety and tech features. It includes Chevy Safety Assist, which offers automatic emergency braking, pedestrian braking, and more. Adaptive Cruise Control is available for easier highway driving. The vehicle also features an HD Surround Vision camera system for a better view of the car. 

Launch and Pricing in the UAE

The Chevrolet Equinox EV price in the UAE starts at AED 169,900. The electric crossover competes against the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia EV6, and Volvo EX30 in its segment.
