SAUDI ARABIA : BYD has revealed its highly-awaited Shark pickup truck, all set to compete in the mid-size pickup segment against the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. Equipped with a PHEV powertrain, it boasts a significant advantage over its competitors.

    The Shark pickup truck boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a dual-motor setup. The rear motor produces 201 hp and 340 Nm of torque, while the front motor can generate up to 228 hp and 310 Nm of torque. The combined output is rated at 435 hp.

    BYD SharkThis dynamic pairing allows the pickup truck to accelerate swiftly in just 5.7 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour, reaching a top speed of 160 kilometres per hour.

    The Shark features a 29.58-kWh battery pack, generating around 100 kilometres of pure electric NEDC range. It boasts a swift charging time of approximately 20 minutes for the battery to charge from 30% to 80%. In the pure gasoline mode, it can travel up to 840 km.

    The BYD Shark colour options include Marmara Black, Pallas White, and Atlantis Gray.
