Audi launches entry-level model for e-tron GT – Does 0- 100 kmph in 4 seconds

Abu Dhabi : The new entry-level model competes against the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S in its class.

• The new model features dual motors producing 496 hp, which can be boosted to 576 hp via launch control.
• Battery upgrade now increases the range up to 384 miles, with the 320 kW charging adding 177 miles in 10 minutes.
• The exterior design remains largely the same, while the interiors get a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a 10.1-inch touchscreen.

Audi has added a new entry-level version to its electric car lineup with the launch of the new e-tron GT quattro. This new base model makes it easier for more people to consider a luxury electric vehicle. It joins the current models in the lineup, including the S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT performance variants.

Performance and Powertrain

The Audi e-tron GT Quattro is equipped with two motors that produce 496 hp. With launch control, this can be raised to 576 hp for short bursts. This increased power allows the car to go from 0 to 100 kmph in only 4 seconds.

Standard features include adaptive air suspension, which helps make the ride smoother. The car also has Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive, which uses torque vectoring to send power to both axles as needed. The new base model weighs 30kg less than the higher-tier ‘S’ version, as Audi has pointed out. Still, it weighs around 2.3 tonnes.

Battery and Charging

An upgraded 105 kWh battery gives the vehicle a range of up to 384 miles on a single charge. Further, charging at 320 kW can add about 177 miles in just 10 minutes. Under ideal conditions, it can reach 80 per cent charge in roughly 18 minutes.

Design and Features

The e-tron GT quattro has only a few design updates. It comes with large wheels and a smooth, coupe-like shape. Its long wheelbase gives it a sporty look. The car’s aerodynamic design includes a low drag coefficient of 0.24 and air intakes that can be adjusted. These features help boost efficiency and keep driving noise to a minimum. 

At the front, the inverted Singleframe grille is highlighted by a black mask, which is painted in the same color as the body. The back features a sleek diffuser with vertical fins, adding a bold visual detail.

Interiors and Comfort

The cabin features a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a 10.1-inch touchscreen for multimedia. The high-voltage battery is placed under the car, with neat recesses that act as footwells. These give more legroom and comfort for everyone on board.

The driver and front passenger sit in seats that can be adjusted in eight ways. They have integrated headrests for added comfort. The rear seat backrest can be folded down all the way or partially, which increases the trunk space to 405 liters. Plus, there is a front storage area of 77 liters for storing extra items.

Launch and Availability in the UAE

The Audi S e-tron GT in the UAE is currently available at the price of AED 624,000. There is no information on the launch of the new entry-level model of e-tron GT. However, if launched, expect it to undercut the S e-tron GT by at least around AED 100,000.
