All-New Nissan MICRA EV – Key Features, Powertrains, Range and More

Abu Dhabi : The 4-door electric sedan shows a striking design language and hints at advanced technology inside.

Nissan has unveiled the sixth-generation MICRA ahead of its European launch in late 2025. The B-segment hatch will be a fully connected electric vehicle (EV) with no emissions. The new MICRA combines a bold look with eco-friendly features. It stays true to its core ideas as a stylish yet simple car. 

This design has made it popular for over 40 years, spanning five generations. The new model aims to keep that tradition alive while offering modern, clean mobility.

Powertrain and Performance

The new MICRA comes with two battery options: 40 kWh and 52 kWh. Both give a strong performance and a good range for city driving. When the battery needs a boost, the MICRA features one of the fastest charging options in its class. Its 100kW DC charger (or 80kW for the 40kWh model) allows quick charging from 15 per cent to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes.

Styling

The new MICRA was designed in London by Nissan’s Design Europe team. It features a fresh, bold look with an SUV-like shape and simple surfaces. All versions come with 18-inch wheels, with options like plain covers or stylish alloy designs, giving the car a strong stance. The headlamps are eye-catching and have a unique “welcome wink” light show when you unlock or lock the car. 

The rear lights are sleek LED circles. The car’s colour choices are bright and bold, with 14 options. Many models offer two-tone colours, mixing body paint with black or grey roofs, giving owners plenty of ways to stand out.

Interiors & Features

The new Nissan Micra’s interior is simple and elegant while adding subtle details to Japanese design. A hidden Mount Fuji outline in the door storage hints at its heritage. The driver’s area features a three-spoke steering wheel and a 10.1-inch digital display behind it for easy reading. A matching 10.1-inch touchscreen runs across the dashboard, controlling navigation, audio, and phone functions. 

The car offers three trim options—Modern, Audacious, and Chill—to suit different tastes and add a touch of luxury. Smart tech features run throughout, making driving and riding more connected and enjoyable. NissanConnect with Google built-in helps with navigation, music, and calls. It also connects to the NissanConnect app, which shows battery levels, location, and charging history, and allows remote control of heating and charging.

Safety Features

The Nissan MICRA EV is compact but doesn’t cut corners on safety. Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist features include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and emergency braking. It also has Blind Spot Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Driver Monitoring, and more. These systems help protect the passengers, especially in busy city streets.

There is no information on the Nissan Micra launch in the UAE. However, it is expected to be launched in the region next year following its release in European markets later this year.
