2026 Xpeng P7 Launch – Exploring Features and Specifications

Abu Dhabi : With sleek and sharp design, and plenty of comfort and tech inside, the new Xpeng P7 puts up a strong impression.

Chinese car maker Xpeng has revealed new photos and details of its upcoming electric car, the P7. This new model is a major update over the current P7i. It has a fresh look on the outside and many improvements to the engine and batteries. 

These changes help it compete better with top electric cars in China, like the Xiaomi SU7, BYD Han EV, and IM L6. The new P7 aims to show Xpeng’s strong push into the electric vehicle market.

2026 Xpeng P7 Engine and Specifications

The car will come with two options for its drivetrain: one is the rear-wheel drive (RWD) with a 270 kW electric motor. The RWD variant will be available in two battery options — one with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and another with ternary lithium (NMC).

The all-wheel drive (AWD) version has two motors — a 167 kW motor at the front and a 270 kW motor at the back. It runs on a ternary lithium battery. The final battery size and driving range are still not known, but the car should deliver solid speed and quick acceleration. 

2026 Xpeng P7 Exterior Design

The latest Xpeng P7 introduces a completely new look, moving away from smooth, traditional lines. 

• Its front end looks bold with a wide horizontal light bar and vertical headlights that make it stand out. The front bumper has a sporty, prominent design, adding to its aggressive style. At the rear, the bumper showcases unique details that boost its sporty feel.
• The car has a sleek fastback silhouette with a sloped roof and an elevated rear, inspired by muscle cars from America. Hidden door handles, floating-style side mirrors, and an electronic rear spoiler finish the design. Customers can pick colors, such as shiny silver or matte purple, and can also personalise some exterior parts using materials like carbon fiber.
• The new P7 comes with sporty wheels in 20- and 21-inch sizes. The front and rear tyres are different sizes for better handling and stability. The overall dimensions have grown. It is now 5,017 mm long, which is 129 mm longer than the earlier model. The sedan is 1,970 mm wide, 1,427 mm tall, and comes with a long wheelbase of 3,008 mm.

Xpeng has not officially released photos of the car’s interior, but spy shots give a good look inside.

• The cabin looks spacious and packed with tech features. It features a large central touchscreen, a three-spoke steering wheel with touch controls, and possibly purple leather seats. 
• The car is expected to run on Xpeng’s newest Xmart OS 2.0 system. This new interface supports advanced voice commands and might include an augmented reality head-up display to improve driver awareness.
• A major upgrade is the use of Xpeng’s latest Turing AI chip. This allows the car to change to a camera-only and vision-based driver assistance system. The new setup replaces the lidar technology used in earlier models.

Launch and Price

The Xpeng P7 is set to be officially launched in the third quarter of this year. Industry experts are closely watching the market reaction. This vehicle could change how sports electric sedans compete in China and other regions. The price could start anywhere around AED 189,000, which puts P7 in the league of BYD Han L EV, Xiaomi SU7, and IM L6.
