2026 Volkswagen T-Roc Unveiled Globally, UAE Launch Expected Next Year

Volkswagen has unveiled the second-generation T-Roc, its compact SUV that has been redesigned with new styling, updated interiors, and a choice of hybrid engines. The new model is already open for pre-bookings in Germany, while a UAE launch is expected in mid-2026.

The T-Roc is an important model in Volkswagen’s SUV lineup, slotting below the Tiguan but offering strong appeal to buyers seeking a mix of design, technology, and sustainability.

Design and Aerodynamics

The 2026 Volkswagen T-Roc has been completely refreshed with an evolved look that now includes connected LED lighting elements and a coupe-like rear profile.

Volkswagen has also redesigned the bonnet, which along with aerodynamic improvements, results in a drag coefficient of just 0.29Cd. This makes the SUV one of the most aerodynamic in its class.

The car is slightly larger than its predecessor, being 12 mm longer. It also features a sloping roofline and sportier stance. At the front, a new fascia with an illuminated logo, IQ Matrix LED headlights, and piano black bumper highlights add a modern touch.

On the side, buyers will notice blacked-out 20-inch alloy wheels and new mirrors. The rear now carries connected LED taillights, a new spoiler, and another illuminated logo.

Interior and Space

On the inside, the T-Roc gains a newly designed dashboard and more comfortable seating. The increased wheelbase of 28 mm ensures better legroom for rear passengers. Although the T-Roc is still smaller overall than the Tiguan, it now provides a more spacious feel.

Volkswagen has also focused on sustainability by using 20% recycled materials in the cabin, including fabric elements on the dashboard. Improved insulation further enhances comfort during long drives.

Features and Technology

The new T-Roc is equipped with advanced features, such as:

• 14-way electrically adjustable driver seat.
• Wireless smartphone connectivity and charging pad with cooling.

These upgrades underline Volkswagen’s intent to make the T-Roc a highly competitive model in its class.

Engine Options

The SUV is built on the MQB Evo platform and comes with several new hybrid engine choices. The first option is a 1.5-litre eTSI with 114 bhp and 220 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

The second 1.5-litre eTSI is tuned for 148 bhp and 250 Nm, also with a DSG transmission. Both engines are supported by a 48V mild-hybrid system delivering an additional 19 bhp when required.

Volkswagen will also add a 2.0-litre TSI engine with 4Motion AWD and 48V support later. In addition, a 1.5-litre TSI evo2 strong-hybrid unit will debut in two versions: 134 bhp or 168 bhp, producing 306 Nm of torque.

UAE Launch and Price

The second-generation T-Roc will first go on sale in Germany this November. For the UAE, a launch is expected around mid-2026, with an estimated starting price of AED 100,000 excluding VAT.
