2019 Honda Civic gets gentle tweaks

ABU DHABI: Honda has given a light touch up to the 2019 Civic along with some newer technology. The vehicle has become a household name in the C-segment sedan space ever since its arrival way back in 1972. Since then the vehicle has gone through a number of updates all around to be very much relevant with technology and also to be competitive in the market.

The lower bumper of the 2019 model has been completely redesigned, thus making the vehicle have a wider presence. Also, the rear bumper gets a chrome strip.

On the inside, the steering wheel controls get a new style while the cup holder on the centre console has become larger. The dashboard trims have been updated too. All of these designing updates are standard across all the variants of the 2019 model. The LX trim level of the vehicle has Gunmetal Grey, while the Touring, EX, and EX-L get the metallic finish. However, the Sport trims feature embossed finish on them.

An additional sound insulation is provided that reduces the road noise. It is placed at the boot and front as well as in the front and rear fenders.

Some other changes inside the cabin are made on the display audio system, which is featured in the Sport trims. The higher trims get volume controller along with a new interface. The EX variants also get the same display audio system. Some of the other features include leather-wrapped steering wheel, 8-way power adjustable driver seats and standard dual-zone automatic climate control.

The car will be riding on 17-inch alloy wheels which are optional for the customers. The other optional features include side-view camera, remote start, power moonroof, and push-start engine. Moreover, leather-trimmed seats and auto-dimming rearview mirror are provided in the EX-L trims.

As for the safety features, the driver-assistance systems with auto-beams are standard across all the variants. Moreover, the car gets the upgraded safety features which we know as the Honda Sensing suite.

The new Honda Civic will be introduced in the US on 10th of October. We can expect that the car will arrive in UAE within the coming months.
