2019 Chevrolet Suburban RST revealed

ABU DHABI: Chevrolet has made yet another news with the launch of its 2019 Suburban RST. The Chevrolet Suburban Rally Sport Truck(RST) may not be a new thing, but the 6.2-litre V8 engine under the hood is.  Apart from the V8 engine, the RST performance package adds a new Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission and Magnetic Ride Control with performance calibration. “The RST Performance Package was launched on the Tahoe RST last spring and since then customers have shown extraordinary interest and liking towards it.

The Suburban RST will use for the first time ever a 6.2-litre V8, paired to an equally new 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine has got the 420 hp of power and 627 Nm of peak torque at full tilt, likewise Tahoe RST and likely Silverado RST, too. The Suburban RST will also adopt Chevy’s Magnetic Ride Control System for the first time ever, making the bulky SUV improve on its ride quality.

Complementing the V8 is the optional Performance Dual-Side Exit exhausts made by Borla. According to Chevrolet, it will improve exhaust flow by 28-percent, deliver better fuel mileage, free up more horses from the eight-cylinder engine.

The Suburban RST also has a gaudy exterior styling and unique equipment. Massive 22-inch alloys wrapped in 285/45 tires adorn the wheel wells while blacked-out trim pieces and give the SUV a more desirable appearance. Both the front grille surround and the door handles in body color as well as the mirror caps painted in gloss black will make it every car owner’s fantasy.

But the best and the most unique feature are its brakes, made by Brembo. It consists of lightweight six-piston aluminum calipers at the front that clamp on to 16.1-inch Duralife rotors. One can stop the car any time one wants. “When you want to hustle, the RST with the performance package offers high levels of acceleration, breaking and road-holding grip”, said Eric Stanczak, chief engineer for Chevrolet. “When you want to relax, it is very refined with exceptional ride comfort and interior quietness”, he further added.
