Nissan Sentra - Features making it the perfect family car
The UAE is probably one of the few regions in the world where the eye-catchy sedans and SUVs are highly preferred, even over hatchbacks. And with this being the highlight of the Middle East automobile market, the automakers have not failed to capitalize on the fact.
Nissan has a huge say in the contemporary breed of sedans in the region and though the likes of Honda, Hyundai, etc. are the ultimate best-seller, the Sentra sedan has had a stellar performance since its inception back in 2013.
Despite not getting any major updates right from the initial launch, the Nissan Sentra has managed to get a lot of attention with the features that are already on offer. And these features are the biggest magnetic links for the people who look for comfort, convenience, and efficiency.
Here are the features that make the Nissan Sentra worth buying, despite facing a stiff competition from the likes of Honda City.
Features inside the cabin
The Nissan Sentra is quite an amazing car when it comes to the feature count. The foremost feature that entices the convenience factor is the addition of keyless entry, along with power window both at front and rear. The rear seats also get headrest, which isn’t always available as standard in a car of this price. However, the top-end trim with the 1.6-litre engine has four speakers routed to the 2-DIN audio system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and rear parking distance sensors.
Speaking of the safety, all the variants, including the base 1.6-litre trim, get dual safety airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, and immobilizer. The top-end variant of the 1.8-litre features a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 5.8-inch touchscreen display with navigation, 2-DIN audio player, and cruise control. The parking assist is also accompanied with a parking camera.
Plus, little do people know that the Sentra has a slightly taller stance, which provides an extra bit of headroom inside the cabin. The leg room is quite ample even for tall passengers. The driver’s seat is six-way manually adjustable which makes sure that the driver is in the most comfortable position depending on his/her height.
Engine and efficiency
The Nissan Sentra is offered in two engine variants that are extremely powerful. The 1.6-litre engine has a capacity of producing a good power of 113 hp along with a peak torque of 154 Nm. On the other hand, the 1.8-litre, four-cylinder engine makes 130 hp power and 174 Nm of torque.
The power is sent down to the wheels via a CVT gearbox for both the engine option. However, the smaller variant also gets a 5-speed manual as an option.
Based on the company’s own claims and the feedback from current customers, the Nissan Sentra is one of the most economic B-segment sedans that are currently on sale in UAE and offer 16.1 kmpl mileage for the 1.6-litre trim and 14.9 kmpl in the 1.8-litre variant.
A family-oriented car, it is
With all of these features on offer, the Nissan Sentra is definitely one of the coolest options in the market so far, especially when we speak about the ones bearing an affordable price tag. And very rightly so, at a starting price of just over AED 50,000, not many of the market stalwarts offer the number of features that the Sentra is packed with.
The Nissan Sentra is undoubtedly one of the most feature-rich sedans for its price. It is more like a family-oriented car and every bit of the features are designed to be so. However, one can arguably say that Sentra hasn’t performed to its full potential yet, mainly because the competitors are more established and have a larger base of loyal customers.
