Toyota RAV 4 HEV EX

I’ve been driving a Toyota RAV4 for a few years now, and while the first one or two years were smooth, the problems started showing up soon after. The brake noise began first — both while braking and from the brake pads themselves. Then came issues with the panoramic sunroof. On my RAV4, while opening the sunroof, the sunshade fabric got stuck halfway and bunched up unevenly near the rear section. The shade movement became irregular and misaligned, and it no longer opens smoothly. I have taken the car to the service center four times, and even after the national service team inspected it, the issue remains unresolved. Overall, the RAV4 might look impressive at first, but the long-term reliability and service experience have been disappointing. If you’re planning to buy one — think twice.

The RAV4 has been with me for over six months now, and I’ll say this, it’s practical and easy to live with. The hybrid option helps save a lot on fuel, especially with the rising costs. It’s not as massive as a Land Cruiser, but for a small family, it has enough space and comfort. The steering feels light in the city, making it easy to drive in Sharjah traffic. I really appreciate how the seats fold flat; when we go out for groceries at Lulu or Carrefour, I can load up easily. The engine isn’t super sporty, but it’s smooth enough for daily drives. It balances efficiency and comfort, which makes it one of the smartest buys for daily use.

I bought the Toyota RAV4 last year, mainly for family trips and daily driving around Dubai. It’s roomy enough for my wife and kids. When we go on weekend trips it carries extra luggage without any hassle. The drive is always seamless and smooth, even on bumpy roads, and the engine has enough power to handle highways easily. When I have to park in tight parking the sensor camera guides me well. The touchscreen is simple to use, and the safety features give me peace of mind, especially when driving in busy traffic. The SUV is reliable and comfortable for my family and me and it's my companion now.

The Toyota RAV4 in the UAE market is quite a capable one, it offers a balanced performance, packed with 2.5L hybrid engine, nice power figure of 176hp at 5700 rpm and 220 Nm of torque makes it capable, and smoother with the E-CVT transmission and with excellent 4WD, it ensures smooth acceleration and stability. This seven seater SUV is comfortable to drive and could be suitable for large families and also anyone wanting extra space or bigger size car. And so the cabin is very big too for a decent size passenger, and so preferred for longer drives. The RAV 4 gets the very proven and well-known friend 1.5-liter petrol engine, providing excellent figures of 103 hp and 136 Nm of torque, available with both a 5-speed manual, and turned to a 4-speed automatic gearbox, which could be unique in the segment. The cabin is spacious and very well laid out with great comfort and safety.

When I observed this Toyota model closely, I could easily decipher how its rugged appearance has brought in a distinguished change to this from other usual compact SUVs available. Inspite of the same I was pretty surprised to figurer how this extra competent SUV can stand out from the host of other such relevant models in terms of being competent and pleasant. Expect decent amount of space within so that you can avail a wonderful trip while driving the model. Even the cargo area is equally incredible. The machine will overwhelm its buyers with the provision of enormous number of driver aids too.

The Toyota Rav 4 is a very well know car on the road, and my estimate is the car is quite popular in UAE taking into account the visibility across key cities. And, so I don’t doubt about the car’s capability in any area, rather it has a proven record of performance. What I will say is that the hybrid powertrain of this car is the standout element. Although, the hybrid costs you more than the petrol variant but it is worth the money you’re paying. This proved to be correct in my recent test drive in Abu Dhabi and find the engine quite refined and very well tuned for almost all driving conditions, the mileage is excellent too.

One of my favorite Toyota SUV that is available at a very affordable price. The Rev 4 offers the benefits of both a decent family car and there are elements of fun and adventure too if considered the all wheel drive variant. What really stands out for me in the Rev 4 is the superior performance guaranteed by the 4 cylinder, 2.5L motors that provide 203hp of power with good 243 Nm of torque figures and are nicely tuned to the 8 speed automatic transmission. Safety is another impressive area of the car with a total of seven airbags that take care of the driver, passenger, and rear seat occupants.
