Opel Corsa

The 2024 Opel Corsa gets faux-leather upholstery. A lot of hard plastics have been used in the cabin, particularly on the door panel. But there's also a liberal adoption of high-gloss satin and black chrome trim around the cabin. The glossy trim does lend the car an upmarket feel but at the same time, its prone to smudges. All models get a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit as standard. The display is crisp and the screen responds quickly to prods and presses. It can be controlled with the multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel. There's a physical home button and a volume knob. The air-conditioning unit gets manual controls. The physical buttons aren't plush. A 3.5-inch screen displays driver information. There are a number of convenient storage spaces throughout the cabin. 

The 2024 Opel Corsa comes with updated exterior styling. The car now sports the 'Vizor' grille up front that's already used on the Mokka, Grandland, and Astra models in the international market. The smart-looking black strip between the sleek headlights lend the car a sportier appearance. The matrix headlights get a new design and are also technically much improved. Each headlight gets 14 individually controllable LED elements. The output is brighter than before and provides a glare-free experience to oncoming drivers. At the back, the car gets a new and more prominent 'Corsa' lettering, borrowed from the Corsa 40 Limited Edition launched in 2022. Depending on the trim, the badges can be finished in matte satin silver or black. The 2024 Opel Corsa also gets a new Grafik Grey paint scheme that can be combined with a black roof. The entry-level version gets 16-inch alloy wheels.

The two front seats of the 2024 Opel Corsa, like most cars in its segment, get the maximum space. Both seats offer a good range of adjustment in reach and height to the steering wheel and the driver's seat. Finding a comfortable driving position won't be difficult. The Elegance Plus trim has adjustable lumbar support and massage function, features that are unusual among small cars. The rear seats aren't the easiest to get in or out and taller passenger will find things difficult. The door aperture is quite narrow. The rear seat is suitable for two passengers. Accommodating three persons will be a squeeze. The rear seat gets 60/40 split-fold as standard. That's par among most small cars. The 2024 Opel Corsa handles abrupt bumps like drain covers and potholes with reasonable ease. But the car gets disturbed by smaller road surfaces. Handling is easy, courtesy of the light steering. Slow parking manoeuvres are easy. But at a higher speed, the steering's lack of weight makes the driving a less engaging experience.  

The entry-level 2024 Opel Corsa Elegant is hauled by a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 132 PS/230 Nm. The motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic. While the powertrain itself is efficient, transmission is a bit sluggish especially in the first and second gears. 

The 2024 Opel Corsa comes with a nice set of driver-assist features and safety equipment. It gets sat-nav support. The driver-assist suite comprises a lane departure warning system, crash mitigation with pedestrian detection, forward collision alert, and plus cruise control with a manual speed limiter.

The 2024 Opel Corsa is a nice car for daily commuting. It comes with a capable powertrain, and a feature-packed cabin and is a comfortable car to travel in. Maintenance cost is pretty low. That the Corsa is such a long-running car proves its worth.
