Next-gen Ford Territory gets a 5-star rating from C-NCAP

ABU DHABI: The next-generation Ford Territory has been given a five-star safety rating, making it one of the safest cars on the road. It attained a five-star rating by going through tests in three categories- Pedestrian Protection, Occupant Protection (overlap crash test, full frontal collision test, side collision impact test), and Active Safety. The SUV grabbed a cumulative score of 86.8% out of 100.

Out of the total 24 points in the full frontal collision test that comes under the Occupant Protection category, the next-generation Ford Territory got 19.384. After conducting the crash test on dummies, it was found that the vehicle offered good chest, head, and neck protection. Even the shins are properly protected. During the test, some impact was seen on the dummies’ thighs leading to the aforementioned score.

The Ford Territory scored 20.753 out of 24 in the overlap crash test. During this test, a vehicle-to-vehicle crash was stimulated, and the impact point was set to a position that directed the impact’s force to the chassis. No untoward impact was felt on the sensors of the dummies during this instance. The SUV grabbed 19.960 points In the side collision impact test out of 20, which is quite impressive.

For pedestrian protection, the Ford Territory managed to get 10.9 points out of 15. In terms of active safety, it scored 22 out of 25.
