JAECOO J7 SHS Hybrid SUV Set for UAE Launch with No-Compromise Range and Tech

Abu Dhabi : A new hybrid SUV will soon arrive in the UAE. It promises the feel of electric driving, long-range flexibility, and advanced safety with no need for a plug-in.

• It will have pure EV mode of up to 90 km, with a total range of over 1,200 km.
• There will be low use of fuel, as low as 3.1 L/100 km.
• It'll handle up to 60°C, meaning it's made for UAE heat.

OMODA&JAECOO is expanding its UAE reach with the JAECOO J7 SHS hybrid SUV, expected in showrooms by the end of August 2025. The model is the first entry from the brand’s new Super Hybrid System (SHS) lineup in the region.

The J7 SHS, which is engineered to meet the mobility needs of Gulf drivers, has a blend of the benefits that come with electric drive and fuel reliability. So, there's no need to charge and it still offers clean, quiet driving around town.

Hybrid Power, No Charging Stress

The key draw of the J7 SHS is in its advanced hybrid system. Based on WLTP testing, the SUV offers up to 90 km of pure EV driving and a total driving range of over 1,200 km on a full tank and charge. With its 3.1 L/100 km fuel economy rating, it’s designed to easily cover city routes and long drives between Emirates with.

This makes the J7 SHS ideal for the UAE, since charging networks are growing but not yet everywhere. City trips use electricity, while the petrol engine smoothly kicks in for longer journeys.

Built Tough for Gulf Roads and Heat

The J7 SHS, unlike many hybrids made for milder climates, is built to handle harsh weather. It is ready for summer heat and desert terrain, as it has operating limits from -35°C to 60°C,. The platform is tuned to be durable, which provides strong suspension, good cabin insulation, and responsive power delivery for busy roads or open highways in the UAE.

It has a 1.5TGDI turbocharged engine that works with two electric motors to produce 328 hp and 515 Nm. The Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) delivers smooth transitions without gears for fast and quiet acceleration.

What’s Ahead for OMODA&JAECOO in UAE

The company will follow the J7 SHS with two more SHS models. The J8 SHS is a high-performance SUV that offers 596 hp, 915 Nm, AWD, and 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. The expectation is a C7 SHS hybrid crossover, though there are no details on it.

For now, drivers in the UAE can look forward to the J7 SHS hitting the market this August at AED 110,000.
