Dacia to unveil new Spring EV on February 21

ABU DHABI: The Dacia Spring is considered the most affordable EV in the European market. To keep it desirable and relevant, Renault’s sister brand, is coming up with its heavily updated version on February 21. This new version is said to be the all-electric version of the Kwid hatchback.

Dacia already sells the Spring EV globally in several markets and the facelifted version will bring tons of new features and cosmetic updates to the electric offering.

The upcoming Spring EV seems to be inspired by the all-new Duster. It boasts similar design elements like a new grille design and angular headlamps. As per the teaser images, it comes with various enhancements like larger wheels and higher ground clearance, enhancing its SUV appeal. 

Inside, the steering wheel and dashboard design have been updated, with some components borrowed from other Dacia-Renault products. Dacia will also make improvements to the motor and battery leading to better performance and range. However, the exact specifications have not been confirmed by the company. 

The current generation Dacia Spring EV is equipped with a 26.8 kWh battery pack providing an impressive range of 230 km on a single charge. It features a single electric motor and the battery takes less than an hour to be charged from 0-80 percent with up to 30 kW fast charging support.
