Abu Dhabi : BMW M Motorsport has revealed the BMW M2 Racing, an affordable, high-performance race car designed for private teams, with global customer racing set to begin in the 2026 season.

BMW Expands Customer Racing with M2 Racing

BMW M Motorsport continues its tradition of offering high-performance yet affordable race cars with the introduction of the new BMW M2 Racing. Announced at the DTM season opener at Oschersleben, it is set to replace earlier models like the M235i Racing and M2 CS Racing.

Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH, said, “With the introduction of the BMW M2 Racing, we are continuing a proud tradition.” He highlighted the model’s mix of affordability, performance, and driving pleasure, keeping customer support a top priority.

The new race car is undergoing intensive testing, including under race conditions. Jens Klingmann, one of the BMW M works drivers, stated, “Buyers of a BMW M2 Racing can look forward to a fantastic entry-level car that is very easy to operate, has extremely low operating costs due to its close relation to the production model, and yet is a fully-fledged race car with high performance.”
