2023 Ford Territory recalled in the UAE

The Ministry of Economy has issued a safety recall notice for the 2023 Ford Territory models that were manufactured this year. The recall is to inspect the welding quality between the cross-car beam and the steering bracket. A total of 665 units will undergo quality checks.

The recall notice clearly states that most of the affected units were produced in China. The ministry said the recall notice is part of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that the dealers follow up on vehicle repairs and defects.

The ministry said that “on affected vehicles, the steering column bracket may detach from the vehicle cross-car beam due to an incorrectly welded joint.” The ministry further added, “It is possible that the steering column bracket may detach from the vehicle cross-car beam, and the customer will be unable to steer the vehicle, increasing the risk of crash or injury.”

All customers with the impacted 2023 Ford Territory have been requested to contact Premier Motors and Al Tayer Motors for an appointment to fix the fault free of charge.

The all-new 2023 Ford Territory boasts three distinct trims and seating for up to five. The available variants include- Ambiente, Trend, and Titanium. Standard safety features include rear parking sensors, front driver and passenger airbags, rearview camera, hill-start assist, blind spot monitor, stability control, ABS, traction control, and tire pressure monitor. The starting price is AED 106,000.
