Outdated features, mediocre on-road handling
The Nissan Xterra has a powerful engine with optimum torque for highway merging and off-road adventures. However, it leaves something to be desired with its on-road handling. Its body-on-frame design is sturdy and its long-travel suspension enhances its off-road capability, resulting in an uncomfortable ride than traditional crossover SUVs. Also, it feels sluggish while handling tight turns, and the steering is a bit slow. Its safety features and infotainment system are also outdated than its competitors. Its performance trails behind most of the modern SUVs.
