UMW Toyota Motor unleashes GR Supra MT; priced at AED 534,702

ABU DHABI: UMW Toyota Motor has launched the all-new GR Supra MT in Malaysia, which marks the first time that the Supra model is available in a manual transmission version. The updated model offers a more immersive driving experience and superior control for driving enthusiasts who prefer to shift gears manually.

The GR Supra MT is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six motor, which is the same powerhouse found on the automatic Supra, producing a maximum power of 388 PS from 5,800 to 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 500 Nm from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. This powertrain is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The GR Supra MT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, which is marginally slower than the automatic Supra that can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. The top speed, on the other hand, is claimed to be 250 kmph.

In addition to the brand-new manual transmission option, the GR Supra MT features several other upgrades over the previous generation. It has a stiffer chassis for improved handling and stability, and it has also been given a revised suspension setup that enhances ride comfort without sacrificing performance.

The exterior design of the GR Supra MT features a striking, aerodynamic shape with a long hood, short overhangs, and a double-bubble roof. The car's low-slung stance and wide stance give it a sporty and aggressive appearance, while the LED headlights and tail lights add a touch of modern sophistication.

An 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, head-up display, dual-zone climate control, eight-way power-adjustable seats, black leather upholstery, JBL surround sound system, electronic parking brake, reverse camera, seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive high beams are some of the premium features included in the GR Supra MT.

A total of eight exterior colours are offered on the 2023 Toyota Supra - Prominence Red, Lighting Yellow, Black Metallic, Dawn Blue Metallic, White Metallic, Volcanic Ash Grey Metallic, Matte Avalanche White Metallic, and Matte Storm Grey Metallic.

The new GR Supra MT is priced at RM 645,000 (approximately AED 534,702) and is available for purchase from UMW Toyota Motor showrooms across Malaysia. With its powerful engine, sporty design, and now the added option of a manual transmission, the GR Supra MT is sure to be a popular choice among driving enthusiasts in Malaysia.
