Dubai: If you like the idea of a hybrid that drives quietly and never needs a plug, OMODA has something to show you. The brand has demonstrated its new 5-kWh hybrid technology in the OMODA 7 SHS-H at the OMODA Super Hybrid Marathon in China, which ended on 22 October 2026. 

The SUV is scheduled to reach the UAE in early 2027, and below we explain what the new technology does and what it could mean for your daily drive.

What a Bigger Battery Brings

In a conventional hybrid, a larger battery means the electric motor can help for longer. OMODA says the 5-kWh battery supports its Super Quiet Mode and is designed to give smooth, responsive acceleration. It also aims to reduce the noise and vibration you feel when the engine joins in, which matters most in stop-and-go traffic.

During the marathon, global media drove the OMODA 7 SHS-H on city roads, highways and mountain routes, judging its power response, smoothness and cabin refinement. The brand says it is among the first models to adopt the system.

The battery is not only about driving. Under its Super Life concept, the OMODA 7 SHS-H offers four smart modes, and it can also power gadgets while parked.

The hybrid system sits alongside Super Intelligent Valet Parking and AI cockpit systems. OMODA & JAECOO is also working with AiMOGA Robotics on intelligent technology for service and companionship uses.

What This Means in the UAE

OMODA & JAECOO has recorded more than 6,000 cumulative UAE sales, and the JAECOO J7 is its hero model here. The O5 HEV, launched locally in September, already added to its hybrid range, and the 7 SHS-H will add the new 5-kWh option in early 2027.
