New Lexus GX unveiled; previews next-gen Land Cruiser Prado

ABU DHABI: Lexus unveils the third-generation GX three-row SUV. The debut of the all-new Lexus GX has become a hot topic as it is anticipated to have a connection to the highly-anticipated Toyota Land Cruiser. 

The all-new Lexus GX sets a new standard for luxe SUVs with its breathtaking interior, state-of-the-art safety features, and top-notch performance. The 2024 GX is being offered in six trim levels: Overtrail, Overtrail+, Luxury, Luxury+, Premium, and Premium+.

Its main highlight is a boxy body style that gives the feel of old-school SUVs from the early 1990s and late 1980s. But its tech-forward LED lighting signatures give it a distinctly modern appeal.

Within the Lexus lineup, the all-new third-gen GX SUV sits between the redesigned, full-size 2024 Lexus LX SUVs and the new three-row 2024 Lexus TX. For the first time, it is equipped with a departure from the hydraulic power steering and electronic power steering since it first arrived for the 2003 model year.

It is based on the latest TNGA-F modular ladder frame architecture underpinning the Land Cruiser and the LX. The recently unveiled Toyota Tacoma pickup also sits on the derivate of the same platform. 

The new GX will get two other off-road versions –Overtrail+ and Overtrail along with its chrome-laden trims. These come with an aluminum skid plate and black accents on the grille and fenders. 

The interior will feature the following amenities:

• A massive 14-inch touchscreen infotainment and an all-new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that sits in the center of the dashboard 
• Dials to control audio and HVAC, and buttons to operate 4WD gear 
• A heads-up display in some variants

You can get the all-new Lexus GX in two seating configurations- a seven-passenger layout that with a bench seat and a six-passenger setup with captain's chairs for the second row.
