Limited black and white BMW X5 announced

ABU DHABI: BMW is due to launch its new X5 this year. To celebrate the send-off, the German automaker has just announced a special run to the X5 models in limited black and white splash. The two editions are available in Black Sapphire and Alpine White. Both models will come fitted with a blacked-out M performance double kidney grille and a set of 20-inch alloys with M badge.

With identical interiors, their cabins are packed with Black Dakota leather and aluminium trim. They will come with a sunroof along with premium Harman/Kardon sound system for a unique experience.

BMW’s limited Black and White X5 are also to have a special badge with the units’ signature serial number, which in fact is an add-on to its charm.

The SUV is based on the xDrive35d M sport X5 and with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo diesel mill, it can generate 255 hp of maximum power and 560 Nm of peak torque. An eight-speed automatic gearbox comes fitted to make for a comfortable drive. The SUVs cover 0 to 100 kmph distance in 6.5 seconds before hitting a maximum speed of 230 kmph.

The major downside to this exciting news, however, is that these special X5s will only be sold in Japan. Also, only 110 black and 80 white X5 units are going to be manufactured. No information is available about the side of the steering wheel for now, as Japan sells both right- and left-hand drive vehicles. There is a slight possibility of importing one to the UAE as well.

The prices for the limited edition cars start at AED 36,1175.98 for the limited white X5 and AED 36,4254.16 for the black X5. Whether you buy one of these or the upcoming ones is up to you but BMW sure knows how to keep everyone interested and in the loop.
