Land Rover's Bespoke Division brings back Classic Defender model

ABU DHABI: Land Rover's Bespoke Division has revived the Classic Defender. It will be available in both the versatile 110 and compact 90 body styles. You can even personalize your Classic Defender with a choice of the company’s Premium, Contemporary, Heritage, or "SV Metallic" paint finishes. It will also come with various accessories—including ladders, expedition cages, side steps, roof racks, and winches which will be offered, along with options for 18-inch alloy or 16-inch steel wheels.

You get many modification options, including a camper conversion wherein the rear cabin is transformed into a cosy living area and a roof-mounted tent that can be accessed via a ladder.

The vehicle is powered by JLR’s 5.0-litre naturally aspirated AJ V8 engine, delivering 410 PS and taking just 5.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. It has a top speed of around 170 kmph. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission further enhances the vehicle’s performance.

Inside the revived Defender, you get the option to choose from five premium leather choices for the roof lining, dashboard, seats, and door panels. You’ll get two seat types: one comes with larger bolsters for a sportier look and the second one prioritizes comfort. The center of the dashboard comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen that displays the Land Rover Classic Infotainment System, which includes satellite navigation, Bluetooth, and DAB radio.

The base Defender 90 model starts at £190,000 (AED 919,583.09) while the larger Defender 110 starts at around $263,000 (AED 965,977.17). It goes up to $270,000 (AED 991,683.00), depending on the seating configuration chosen.
