Dodge reveals the new Charger Daytona EV

ABU DHABI: Dodge unveiled the much-anticipated production version of the Charger Daytona on Tuesday, generating excitement in the automotive community. This suggests that the inaugural electric edition of Dodge’s Charger nameplate is all set to meet the diverse demands of electric vehicle aficionados and performance enthusiasts alike, promising an enjoyable driving experience.

    The electric Charger Daytona will have a dual-motor powertrain and it will utilize a modular STLA Large platform. At launch, it will be available in two variants: Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack. The Scat Pack variant produces around 670 hp and 627 ft-lbs of torque while the R/T trim delivers 496 hp and 404 ft-lbs of torque.

    Both variants will feature Powershot boost functionality and all-wheel drive. Acceleration is quite quick, with the Scat Pack hitting 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and R/T achieving the same in 4.7 seconds.

    The new Dodge Charger Daytona EV’s design seems to be inspired by its predecessors with a widebody stance. Innovative features have been introduced like the patent-pending front R-Wing which enhances airflow and downforce. Additionally, the inclusion of a Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust with a Fratzonic logo and Daytona text logos gives the vehicle a unique identity.

    The new Dodge Charger Daytona EV’s exhaust system achieves Hellcat-level sound intensity by utilizing passive radiators. For quieter operations, there is an optional stealth mode.

    The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T and EV Scat Pack production will start in mid-2024. Dodge is also coming up with a two-door Charger SIXPACK H.O. that will be gas-powered and a four-door Charger SIXPACK S.O. Their production will start in 2025. The new Dodge Charger’s production will take place at its Windsor Assembly plant.
